| Good low power 2” eyepiece for very wide field views of nebulas, compact open clusters, globulars, etc. Very good for Dobsonians with 2” focusers, as the wide field of view makes it easy to locate objects. Also, compared with a conventional 50-degree Plössl eyepiece, its 70° field allows 40% more time to observe with a Dobsonian before an object drifts out of the field of view and the scope has to be repositioned to observe it again. It will give a 7.2mm exit pupil with an f/5 reflector, and so is about the longest focal length eyepiece recommended with a fast focal ratio scope. |
