This is an economical 2-element achromatic Barlow lens that will triple the power of any 1.25" eyepiece used with it. It is physically very short (2.5"), so it can be used in the 1.25” star diagonal or focuser of any telescope for a true 3x magnification. If it is placed in front of the star diagonal of a refractor, it provides about 3.75x magnification. It performs best when used with telescopes having focal ratios of f/6 and above. A thumbscrew holds eyepieces firmly in place. Because of its high power, be sure not to use too short a focal length eyepiece that might push your scope's magnification beyond the useful limit of 50x-60x per inch of aperture.
