It is physically very short (2.5"), so it can be used in the 1.25” star diagonal or focuser of any telescope for a true 2x magnification. If it is placed in front of the star diagonal of a refractor, it provides about 2.5x magnification. It performs best when used with telescopes having focal ratios of f/6 and above. A thumbscrew holds eyepieces firmly in place.
