The filter is made of flexible Baader Astro Solar Safety Film, mounted in a durable 4.5” i. d. molded plastic cell. The cell fits over the dewshield at the front of the 4” refractors (over the entire front cell of the C4.5) and is held in place by friction. Some older Celestron 4” refractors (the C102AZ, C102HD, etc.) had a larger diameter dewshield than the current scopes and the 4.5” i. d. cell of this filter will not fit these older scopes. Be certain that the diameter of your dewshield is 4.5” before ordering this Celestron filter.
